My Journey 

 

I have always been drawn to both science and art, two worlds that seem separate yet, to me, have always been deeply connected.  In high school biology, learning about DNA—the code of life—was nothing short of a revelation.  The idea that all living beings are built upon a universal blueprint ignited a deep curiosity in me—a need to understand the fundamental mysteries of existence.  That fascination led me to pursue biology in college, then dive even deeper into science through my master’s and doctoral studies.  Yet, even as I immersed myself in science, another force pulled at me—the world of art, architecture, sculpture, poetry, and creative storytelling.

I have always been captivated by art—not just as an admirer, but as someone who seeks to understand its essence.  Art was never just an interest; it was a quiet force running in the background of my life, waiting to emerge.  I spent hours in museums, completely absorbed in the stories woven into paintings, sculptures, and architectural wonders.  My aunt, an artist, introduced me to the art of printmaking, and from the moment I started carving, I was hooked.  There was something mesmerizing about carving, coloring, layering, refining, and transforming raw materials into something unexpected.

Then came the turning point.  While transitioning between jobs in my scientific career, I stumbled upon AI tools, and the artist inside me awoke with joy.  Experimenting with AI felt instinctive and exhilarating—just like printmaking, it was a deeply immersive process of transformation.  Trial and error, iteration, discovery, and refinement—each image demanded hours to days of careful shaping and editing until it felt right.  AI became my technical collaborator, allowing me to push my creativity and bring my vision to life.

What drives me most is the fusion of philosophy, science, and art in my work.  My scientific training shapes the way I question, analyze, and explore, while my artistic side thrives on intuition, emotion, and imagination.  My collections are more than images—they are narratives that delve into deep philosophical themes, challenging the way we see, feel, and think.  Every collection is a complete artistic journey, from choosing a theme to crafting its name, story, colors, and visual expression.  I don’t seek out ideas—they find me, often during my morning walks, like whispers from the unknown. Just like Akira Cerelis™, the pseudonym I created for my AI artist persona to maintain privacy between my artistic work and scientific profession. 

Today, as an AI artist, I see my work as a journey of discovery—a way to explore the nature of reality beyond what science can currently evaluate and explain.  I believe the most powerful perspectives emerge where disciplines blur, where logic meets creativity, and where questions trigger new ways of seeing the world.  With several collections already in inventory and more in development, this journey is only just beginning.  I am committed to creating and pushing the boundaries of what AI tools and human imagination can achieve together.

P.S. Some fear that AI will diminish the value of art, but I believe otherwise. The artist brings vision and direction, while AI serves as the perfect technical assistant. The process of creating with AI mirrors my approach to printmaking—refining, shaping, and layering until the piece fully comes to life. Each image takes me hours, sometimes days, until it feels complete. So I say, fear not, art is art—because in the end, it is the artist’s vision that gives art its soul.
